Terms, refunds and privacy

BarterCon™ 2027 takes place on Friday, February 19th, 2027. Doors open at 9:00 AM, programming runs 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and the marketplace and anniversary celebration run 5:00 PM to 5:30 PM. The venue will be announced to registered attendees in advance of the event.

Registration is complete only when payment is received and a confirmation with an order number is issued. Tickets are issued to a named attendee and are valid for one person.

Member pricing requires an active Barter Black® membership at the time of purchase. If a membership cannot be verified, an invoice for the remaining balance is issued and the ticket is held until that invoice is paid.

Every attendee must present a valid ticket QR code or order number at check-in. Barter Black® reserves the right to request identification that matches the registration.

Programming, speakers, Business Activations, vendors and schedule details may change. Barter Black® may substitute or adjust any element of the program without reducing the overall value of the experience.

If circumstances beyond our reasonable control prevent the event from taking place, including severe weather, venue loss, public health orders or other events outside our control, Barter Black® may reschedule the event. Tickets transfer automatically to the rescheduled date.

Attendees are responsible for their own travel and lodging. Parking is free for BarterCon attendees.

BarterCon™ ticket sales are final and nonrefundable. We do not offer attendee requested refunds, and no refund can be issued once the event has started.

If Barter Black® cancels BarterCon™ outright, attendees receive a full refund of the ticket price paid. If BarterCon™ is rescheduled, existing tickets transfer automatically to the new event date. A rescheduled event does not create a right to request a refund except where required by applicable law.

Tickets may be transferred to another entrepreneur up to 72 hours before the event. Transfers are not self service. Email community@barterblack.io from the address on the registration with the order number and the new attendee's full name, email address and telephone number.

The recipient receives all benefits included with that ticket, and the original ticket price and ticket type stay attached to the ticket. Barter Black® does not facilitate or process any private payment between the original purchaser and the recipient.

When all 50 seats are sold, you may join the waitlist. If a seat becomes available, the next eligible person receives an email with a private purchase opportunity and has 48 hours to complete the purchase. After 48 hours the opportunity expires and the seat moves to the next person. Joining the waitlist does not guarantee admission.

Attendees must be 18 years of age or older.

Parking is free for BarterCon™ attendees.

Need a place to stay? Our recommended hotel is Staybridge Suites Washington DC East - Largo by IHG, 9401 Lottsford Road, Largo, MD 20774. This is a recommendation only. Attendees are responsible for booking and paying for their own lodging.

Lunch and snacks are provided. Share any dietary restrictions or food allergies during registration, and you can update them any time from your dashboard. We make reasonable efforts to accommodate dietary needs, and we cannot promise an allergen free environment.

Entrepreneurs can earn our trade credits, Barter Bucks℠, by selling products and services and use them with other businesses in the marketplace.

Attendee tickets include 100 Barter Bucks℠. These are event issued credits for use with BarterCon vendors and hosts during BarterCon™ only. Any unused portion expires when BarterCon™ ends and does not carry forward. They carry no cash value, cannot be exchanged for cash, and are not refunded as cash.

Purchases completed during BarterCon™ stay completed. If a ticket is refunded before the event, any unspent event issued Barter Bucks℠ are removed as part of that refund. Barter Bucks℠ you earned independently through the Barter Black® marketplace are never affected.

Barter Bucks℠ balances and marketplace use are governed by the Barter Black® marketplace terms in effect at the time of use.

Private credentials such as vendor, presenter, sponsor, staff, volunteer and media passes include only the benefits stated on that credential.

Vendors may accept cash and card payments at BarterCon, and every vendor must also reserve meaningful products or services that attendees can purchase fully with Barter Bucks℠.

Each vendor must commit at least 500 Barter Bucks℠ in total available value, offered at a one to one rate where the Barter Bucks℠ price always matches the cash price.

Product based vendors must reserve real inventory that attendees can buy on event day. Service based vendors must reserve real capacity, such as sessions, appointments or deliverables, rather than discounts or credits toward future work.

Offers purchased with Barter Bucks℠ must carry the same value, quality and service as offers purchased with cash. Vendors may not add cash surcharges, minimum cash purchases or reduced service for Barter Bucks℠ customers.

Every vendor offer requires administrator approval before publication. Vendors must keep their committed availability open until it is purchased and must mark an offer sold out only after the committed availability is genuinely exhausted.

Vendors who do not meet the Barter Bucks℠ requirement may have their offers held from publication, and repeated noncompliance on event day may affect participation in future BarterCon events.

We collect the information you provide at registration, including your name, email address, telephone number, business details, goals, dietary needs and accessibility requests. We use it to operate BarterCon, to match you with relevant Business Activations, and to communicate about the event.

Payment card details are collected and processed by Stripe. Barter Black® never stores full payment card numbers.

Dietary and accessibility information is shared only with the catering, venue and operations teams who need it to serve you.

We do not sell your personal information. We share it with service providers who support the event, and only to the extent needed for them to do that work.

Text messages are sent only if you give consent at registration. You may withdraw consent at any time. Marketing email is sent only if you opt in, and every message includes an unsubscribe link.

We use Google Analytics 4 and the Meta Pixel to understand how visitors find and use this site and to measure advertising. These load only after you allow the matching category in our cookie banner. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time using the Cookie Preferences link in the footer. Necessary cookies for sign-in, checkout and security are always on.

BarterCon is photographed and recorded. By attending, you grant Barter Black® permission to capture and use photography, video and audio that includes your likeness, voice and business name for marketing, editorial and educational purposes, without additional compensation.

If you prefer not to appear in marketing materials, notify our team at check-in and email support@barterblack.io before the event so we can note your preference.

Attendees may take photographs and video for personal and business use. Recording of full sessions for redistribution is not permitted without written approval.

BarterCon is a professional working environment built on respect. Harassment, discrimination, intimidation, aggressive selling and disruption of programming are not tolerated.

Barter Black® may remove any attendee whose conduct harms the experience of others, without refund.
