BarterCon™ 2027 questions and answers

Yes. Attendees must be 18 years of age or older.

BarterCon 2027 is the five-year anniversary conference of Barter Black®. It is a working day for entrepreneurs in Landover, Maryland on February 19, 2027, built around hands-on Business Activations instead of passive panels.

February 19, 2027 in Landover, Maryland, Prince George's County, near zip code 20774. Doors open in the morning and the day runs through the evening close.

When all 50 seats are sold you can join the waitlist. If a seat becomes available, the next eligible person receives an email with a private purchase opportunity and has 48 hours to complete the purchase. After 48 hours the opportunity expires and the seat moves to the next person on the list. Being on the waitlist does not guarantee admission.

Only 50 paid seats are sold, with 100 total people onsite once hosts, vendors, sponsors and team are counted. Once the 50 seats sell out, ticket sales close.

Early Bird pricing runs through September 30, 2026: $119 for Barter Black® members and $149 for non-members. Beginning October 1, 2026 tickets are $149 for members and $179 for non-members.

Your ticket includes the full day of programming, your Business Activation selections, a meal, and 100 Barter Bucks℠ to use with BarterCon vendors and hosts.

Complete the unfinished business survey and you earn $5 off one BarterCon ticket. The credit is tied to the email you used in the survey, so use that same email at checkout. There is no public promo code and the credit can be used once.

Your payment is verified on our side by Stripe, then your confirmation email goes out and your pass appears under My Pass in your dashboard. If you do not see it, email build@barterblack.io and we will check the order.

Your pass lives under My Pass in your dashboard. It includes your check in code and everything included with your credential.

No. One account, one profile, one dashboard. Your applications, credential, roles, wallet and event day tools all live in the same place.

A Business Activation is a hands-on working session where you complete real work on your business with an expert host. BarterCon 2027 runs 6 Business Activations across the day.

BarterCon runs in two rooms. The Build Room and the Growth Room each host Business Activations through the day, so you can choose the track that matches the work you brought.

Creative Reset experiences are 2 guided sessions built to help you step away from the screen, reset and come back to your work with clearer thinking.

Session selection opens in your dashboard before the event. You can hold one session per time block, and full sessions offer a waitlist that promotes automatically when a seat opens.

The 100 Barter Bucks included with your ticket are event issued credits for use during BarterCon. Any unused portion expires when BarterCon ends and does not carry forward. They are not cash and cannot be redeemed for cash. Purchases you complete during the event stay completed, and Barter Bucks you earned independently in the Barter Black marketplace are never affected.

Entrepreneurs can earn our trade credits, Barter Bucks℠, by selling products and services and use them with other businesses in the marketplace.

No. Barter Black® does not require direct one-to-one swaps. You earn Barter Bucks℠ by selling your products and services, then spend them with any participating business in the marketplace.

Ask a vendor or host for a payment code, then pay from the wallet in your dashboard. Your wallet balance is always used first.

8 entrepreneur vendors sell at BarterCon 2027, and every one of them accepts Barter Bucks℠.

Yes. Vendor tables are limited and go through an application and review. Approved vendors must accept Barter Bucks℠ and record a 30 to 60 second promotional video within two weeks of acceptance.

Yes. Activation Host applications are reviewed by our team. Confirmed hosts receive 150 Barter Bucks℠ and agree to record a 30 to 60 second promotional video within two weeks of acceptance.

Yes. Parking is free for BarterCon attendees.

Need a place to stay? Our recommended hotel is Staybridge Suites Washington DC East - Largo by IHG, 9401 Lottsford Road, Largo, MD 20774. This is a recommendation only. Attendees are responsible for booking and paying for their own lodging.

Lunch and snacks are provided. Share any dietary restrictions or food allergies during registration, and you can update them any time from your dashboard. We make reasonable efforts to accommodate dietary needs, and we cannot promise an allergen free environment.

BarterCon ticket sales are final and nonrefundable, and no refund can be issued once the event has started. If we cancel BarterCon outright, you receive a full refund of the ticket price paid. If we reschedule, your ticket automatically transfers to the new date.

Yes. Tickets may be transferred to another entrepreneur up to 72 hours before the event. Transfers are not self service. Email community@barterblack.io from the address on your registration with your order number and the new attendee's full name, email address and telephone number. The new attendee receives every benefit included with that ticket, and the original ticket price and type stay attached to the ticket. We do not facilitate any private payment between you and the new attendee.
